This is a
recipe which was frequently made by my mom when I was a kid.
Yummy mince cooked to perfection with soft succulent macaroni. Real nostalgic memories!
This is a good comfort food recipe which is a no-fuss, down to earth, simple
meal by itself.
Ingredients:
½ kg mutton
mince
200 gms
green peas
100 gms
elbow macaroni
2 onions –
chopped
2 potatoes –
diced
1 raddish –
diced
2 tomatoes –
chopped
2 carrots –
diced
3 green
chillies – finely chopped
5 cloves
garlic – chopped
Masala:
2 tsp cumin
seeds
1 tsp red
chilli powder
2 tsp
turmeric powder
2 tsp coriander
powder
1 tsp garam
masala
Salt and pepper
to taste
Method:
Prep all the required ingredients.
Start by heating some ghee/ vegetable oil in a thick bottomed kadai. Once the oil is heated, add the cumin seeds. Then saute the onions, garlic and chillies till the onions slightly caramelize.
Add the
diced potatoes and mix well
Add the
remaining masalas and mix well. Let this fry for around 2 minutes on low heat.
Add the
mince to the kadai. Mix well.
Finally add
the tomatoes, green peas, carrots and the raddish. Mix well.
Add salt to
taste and mix.
Add around 500
ml of water and cook it on low heat till the mince is cooked. Add the
macaroni to the dish. Cover and cook till the macaroni is cooked thoroughly.
Garnish with some chopped coriander.
Enjoy this
scrumptious comfort food by itself or you can serve it with pav/ flat bread.
