KOREAN MAYAK EGGS ~~ Marinated Eggs

Today, I am going to share the recipe of Mayak Eggs. This is a Korean dish which is basically soft-boiled eggs marinated in a flavoursome soy broth..
My interest in Korean Cuisine is increasing๐Ÿ˜ƒ  I am loving the spicy, sweet and salty flavors that Korean dishes have to offer.

Mayak eggs can be best enjoyed with warm Jasmine rice. It can be eaten cold or at room temperature. These eggs will stay for 3-4 days under refrigeration.

My son, whose taste buds are slowly developing to embrace these flavors helped me with this recipe ๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

This recipe doesn't require to many ingredients and can be put together in less than 15-20 minutes!

Let's get started.....

3 green onions (chopped)
5-6 garlic cloves (chopped)
1.5 tbsp toasted sesame seeds
1 tsp Sesame oil
1/2 cup water

Method:

Soft boil the eggs for 6 minutes. Put them immediately in an ice bath and then peel them and set them aside.

In a mixing bowl, mix together the water, soy sauce, sesame seeds and sugar.

Now add all the chopped veggies to this mixture.

Mix well. Now pour this mixture over the peeled eggs and store in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Let the eggs marinate overnight before serving.

Add the Sesame Oil and gently mix it in.

Serve with warm Jasmine rice and some steamed veggies on the side.
